The Greetz concept was invented in 2003 by Johan van Vulpen and Simen Schimmel, who were heading Venspro, a concept & ideas production company. After some successful business exercises in the area of relationships, retail and presents, they developed the "print on demand" variant of the traditional retail greeting card. In 2004 Greetz was born in the Netherlands. Soon after, Venspro took the development of the Greetz platform into its own hands and thus transformed into an internet company almost fully dedicated to Greetz. By the end of 2004 Hallmark Benelux knocked on the door to team up with Greetz, not only in the Netherlands but also in Belgium by the end of 2006. Being a viral product (every Greetz card in itself results in another card being sent) more and more consumers became aware of the brand new possibility of personalised real greeting cards via the Internet. Greetz grew steadily as the first in
it's category but also as the only company fully dedicated to online real greeting cards. Over the last years we've gained broad and in depth expertise on all parts of the business process and value chain. This expertise and business success has been noticed in the rest of Europe as well. By the end of 2007, Greetz launched in the UK market, starting an international roll out of the concept with investor Prime Technology Ventures backing up the team & strategy. With the Hallmark-partnership ending in March 2008, Greetz has embraced numerous of other, high quality content partners. As a result, consumers can choose on-line from thousands designs from the high quality card collection by now. Xerox, a worldwide expert in the field of dedicated printing, has been involved in the program since spring 2004. As of 2008 Greetz and Xerox continue on a premium partnership-basis. And, the company is not called Venspro anymore but Greetz. There you go!
